Driving user adoption of Enterprise 2.0

More from Enterprise 2.0 in Boston. Wikis in the enterprise are moving pass denial to regret. A McKinsey study revealed that a significant number of enterprises wish they had invested more, sooner in to Wiki and blogs. Wikis are a case of bottom-up user adoption. One interesting question was "when will a blog just become another data type?" I thought this question missed the point. If you take some of David Weinberger's comments from this morning's key note speech you have to realize that the data and the metadata are blurring to become the same thing. This is what effective search has accomplished for us. The blog has become a metadata record that is time sensitive. It is a reflection of our knowledge and insight at a particular point in time.
