Ask and you shall receive - The tear-off browser applet

I recently posted an open letter to browser developers asking for the ability to create independent applets to support the increasing number of web 2.0 applications. Well it appears that I am not the only person thinking along those lines. For Mac users Michael McCracken (http://michael-mccracken.net/wp/?p=44) has done exactly that and created a browser specifically for gMail. Well done Michael!
