Promoting @HHSGov Entrepreneur Program at Anne Arundel #TechBreakfast

Techbreakfast

This morning I am at the Anne Arundel County TechBreakfast to promote the HHS IDEALab Entrepreneur-In-Residence Program. In particular I am looking for a co-conspirator with deep Java Expertise to come on board at CMS as an Associate Entrepreneur-in-Residence. The challenge is to take the HL7 FHIR Open Source Java Code base and harden it to deliver a next generation BlueButton Data API service for Medicare beneficiaries. This is just one of a number of Entrepreneur opportunities across the US Department of Health and Human Services.

Aerial Array

Terry Kilby, CEO of Aerial Array, gave a fascinating presentation about the work they are doing to use drone technology to perform 2D and 3D mapping.

Terry gave a fascinating demo of 3D mapping where the drone mapping technology was used to estimate the size of asphalt mounds. This process was traditionally a manual process that took a week to collect and a week to process. The drone technology took 8 minutes to capture the data with digital photos and a few hours to process the mapping data.

SnkTrd

Pronounced…“Sneak Trade”. Thomas Mitchell demonstrated his site that is in beta. It is a Social media and E-Commerce site for Sneaker Enthusiasts.

There is also an iOS App in development.

Thomas sold many of his own sneakers to bootstrap SnkTrd.
