Health 2.0 Conference

Realtime notes from the ninth Annual Health 2.0 Fall Conference at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
Here is the online Agenda:

The Challenge

How to change the market dynamics around HIV Medication and Treatment.
Move from High Price/Low volume to Low Price / High Volume

Today 9.9M people access medications through agreements brokered by the Foundation.

Health Access and Health Equity

Greater information is driving change.

Ethiopia built a SMS tracking system for every pregnant mother.
Ethiopia now has more national standard information about maternal health than is available in the USA.

Childhood Obesity

Becoming the largest health challenge in USA.

  • Getting sodas out of schools. Eliminating the equivalent of a 4th meal on a daily basis.
  • Also looking at movement. Fewer than 10% of schools in elementary and middle schools have daily physical activity.

Insights of Women and Girls

Data is available in Github and freely available to analyze.

US has seen a rise in maternal mortality. The only developed country to do so. Are we a poor, isolated island state????
