Boy how we have changed! We have to stay connected these days. A survey shows that we need the Internet before a Cellphone before TV.

Yes - TV is getting sidelined. It will increasingly become a media that we consume on our own time - via the Internet.

I think Steve Rubel just made the case that Search is the premier vehicle for Advertising spend.

He also makes the case that if you are building community and intend to attract Advertising revenue then the site needs to be oriented to encouraging purchasing intent. Think Amazon and eBay over Wikipedia and Twitter!

Building Community is not about features - it is about interaction. As I read this list of ten ways to build community it struck me that these approaches also apply to implementing change in organizations. In a way that is not surprising because implementing change is about engaging members of the team and breaking out of the top-down organizational mentality.

Facebook shows that User Experience wins. It's not about Page Views. Designing to maximize page views is short sighted in a Web 2.0 world. User Engagement drives more ad revenue than page view centric design.
