Realtime notes from day 2 of the HealthData Palooza 2015 (#HDPalooza) in Washington DC.

A record can be enormous. 800T database.

There is a file with dual eligibility information.

Limited data sets have no phi/pii
Research data sets are custom data sets.

Virtual Research Data Center
Can only download aggregate results

Quarterly data releases will have a 3 month completion lag. By then the records are 90-93% complete. This will be generated as a static snapshot.

innovator Research to be released in September 2015
Uses the VRDC
Allows innovators to access CMS data to create products to sell.
